An article I read today illustrates how many people in america cant seem to grasp our history with the American Indian. Reading the article from the Daily Camera, of Boulder, councilman Michael Berry remarked that current Indians dont deserve assistance...because they were 'whipped in a war.'
Hmmm...
Let me get this straight. His first mis-statement is that he thinks it was a 'war'. It wasnt. It was a massacre. And in a grander scheme of things, a genocide. Worse than what the Germans did. Our then govt, passed laws through congress that made possible the taking of land and killing of Indians.
