How about mining?

The Klamath case is one of many in which the vice president took on a decisive role to undercut long-standing environmental regulations for the benefit of business.

Bush administration proposes cutting back areas in Northwest

The spotted owl was declared a threatened species in 1990 due primarily to logging in old growth forests across the Northwest.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. - The Bush administration proposes cutting 1.5 million acres from Northwest forests considered critical to the survival of the northern spotted owl.

The move could reopen the 1990s debate over timber production on public lands, in which logging companies argued that efforts to save the owl contributed to the Northwest timber industry's decline.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed Tuesday to reduce the critical habitat for the owl from 6.9 million acres of federal lands by 22 percent, to 5.4 million acres.

The Bush administration wants to triple the number of noisy,
polluting snowmobiles roaring through America's oldest national
park.

But we have a narrow window of opportunity right now to speak
out against this dangerous proposal, which ignores warnings from
Park Service experts and puts Yellowstone's wildlife, visitors
and staff at risk.

Please go to

and tell the Bush administration to abandon its reckless plan
and instead protect the park's iconic wildlife, clear views and
natural serenity.

Globalization...

The biggest threat to the environment is a rampant surge in unnecessary consumeristic habits and addictions. A good case in point is sugar based ethanol production to supply our car happiness. BUSH's south american tour could have catastrophic effects on the AMAZON? Why? Because the crop of sugar cane produces ethanol based fuel that drives the Brazilian economy. Brazil doesn’t run on oil, like we do.

So, being a true Republican, Bush wants to find more sources for Americas addiction. Our addiction to the car. This is my main point! Its clear. Instead of finding more sources throughout the world to feed our consumption, we need to curb our habits by not always feeding our mouths when we cry. If your a liberal, you raise gas efficiency and curb the auto industry into a slow death. If your a Republican, you find more sources of our addiction.

Bush will do everything in his power to NOT break the supply of any source that feeds this economy.

We know we live in such an unsustainable country, that we now need to go to Brazil to find yet another source of energy?? So, we have military bases in over 45 countries. We now have energy bases in over 12 countries.

So, in the end, the Amazon and the environment will take a massive hit so that our economy can keep on running. What a horrendous economic theory. I have said this before, that the theory of supply and demand in this country has catastrophic environmental consequences.

Soy, beef, wood, and now sugar cane.

Where Will Our Children Live...

A lonesome warrior stands in fear of what the future brings,
he will never hear the beating drums or the songs his brothers sing.

Our many nations once stood tall and ranged from shore to shore
but most are gone and few remain and the buffalo roam no more.

We shared our food and our land and gave with open hearts,
We wanted peace and
love and hope, but all were torn apart.

All this was taken because we did not know what the white man had in store,
They killed our people and raped our lands and the buffalo roam no more.

But those of us who still remain hold our heads up high, and the spirits of
the elders flow through us as if they never died.

Our dreams will live on forever and our nations will be reborn, our bone and
beads and feathers all will be proudly worn.

If you listen close you will hear the drums and songs upon the winds, and in
the distance you will see....the buffalo roam again.
